Château Haut-Brion
One of the oldest properties with a vast history. The only wine not from the Medoc to be given the title of First growth. It is in fact located in Graves. Thomas Jefferson once wrote, "Haut Brion is a wine of first rank and seems to please the American plate more than the others that I have been able to taste in France"

Château Lafite-Rothschild
It could be argued that this is perhaps the most famous of all the vineyards in Bordeaux. Under the stewardship of the Rothschild family this large château has become intertwined with notions for prestige, wealth, elegance and power. This is often reflected in the high prices this wine fetches.
